Last night Mr Shiell went to a fundraising event for the Sea Sheperd Conservation Society. Mr Shiell has supported this organisation for a long time now and is a passionate believer in what the do. They travel the world protecting the worlds marine wildlife. They are best known for defending the whales against Japanese Whalers in Antarctic Waters. Each summer Japanese Whalers travel to the Antarctic Waters to kill Whales. This year they intend to kill over 700 whales. Sea Sheperd are sending three ships to stop them and have succeeded in saving over 1800 whales in the past 6 years.

My family had a great night. We were able to meet Captain Paul Watson, the founder of Sea Sheperd and Greenpeace, crew member from the Steve Irwin(Sea Sheperd Ship) and the odd sportsman.
Do you think we should kill Whales? Why? Why Not?
Operation Christmas Child
October 30, 2011Thank you for all the gifts. We had enough to fill six boxes which was a fantastic effort. These boxes will give joy to those children that receive them.

Over the coming weeks we will be able to track our boxes and see what countries they have been sent to.

Term 3 Holidays
October 9, 2011Hi everyone.
I hope you had a great holiday. Boy did those 2 weeks go fast. I had a great time over the holidays. We went camping at Halls Gap in the Grampians and went on some nice walks. Then in the middle weekend I was lucky enough to go to the AFL grand final and see the mighty cats win the premiership for the third time in 5 years.
In the second week I played a bit of tennis, went for a few surfs, got busy in the garden and did some preperation for term 4. Last Friday I went and saw a band called the Huxton Creepers play live. They were one of my favourite bands when I was much younger. They haven’t played together for 20 years but have got together to do a few shows. I went along for a look and had a fun night.
Have a look at some of my photos below.
Tell me what you did on the holidays.
DAT Term 3
September 18, 2011Over the past term we have been learning about Dinosaurs. The students showed how much they have learnt by carrying out interviews last week. We hope you enjoy them.

Family Fun Festa
September 11, 2011
I hope everyone had fun at the Leopold Primary School Fun Festa. The weather wasn’t the nicest but at least the rain stayed away for most of the day. Our lolly stall was a great success and Mr Shiell froze to death in the dunking tank. Well done to all those students who were accurate with their throws and dunked Mr Shiell into the chilly water.
What was your favourite part of the day? Why?
